Our unique Social Sciences Pathway is specially designed to take you to University for your dream degree! This Pathway includes one mandatory A Level in Psychology, plus two additional subjects of your choice. A Level Sociology focuses on the study of society, it is recognised by employers and universities alike as an excellent qualification showing literacy, numeracy and scientific ability. Here at ED6 you will study culture and identity, education, crime and deviance, and beliefs, alongside sociological theory and research methods.

Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery focuses on developing practical hand skills and enhancing basic underpinning knowledge of relevant industrial processes and techniques.

The purpose is to introduce basic Carpentry and Joinery skills and knowledge to those who have either no, or very little, prior experience. This is an introductory Carpentry and Joinery course is run over 12 weeks, 3 hours each session (Tuesdays) and is aimed at adults, aged 19+, who have an interest in improving their home or might be interested in progressing onto our full time course.

The course includes a combination of 14 hours per week coursework marked unit assessments, as well as practical demonstrations of customers service and presentation skills - essential for entry into local travel, tourism or business employment. You are provided with a educational visits to local and regional travel, tourism and business organisations to put your learning into practice and to support achievement of the unit assessments. You are required to complete at least 36 hours of industrial experience as well as up to 6 hours per week of literacy and numeracy depending on your GCSE or other entry qualifications.
